Creating unique content is always a tough one for webmasters to do. It’s time consuming and requires sometimes a large amount of work. Though not foolproof, here is a shortcut in the content creation process.

Using Google’s translator, you can enter an article you had previously written and have it translated from English to French. Then you can copy and paste the text and have it translated back into English, many of the words will have been changed though the article as a whole will keep the same meaning. To really mix up the words a bit, you can translate it from English-French, French-German, and finally from German back to English. You do have to go in and edit the translated text some to make it cohesive, but much of the work is done for you. This could work as a way to write a blog post, and then convert it to unique content to also submit it as an article.

And after being translated to French and then back to English it reads:

SEO, content creation, web design, and the administrative tasks are all areas that the success of a webmaster must be at least competent in.

And then edited to:

SEO, content creation, web design and administrative tasks are all areas that the success of a webmaster depends on, so he must be at least competent in these areas.

Many more changes happen in longer text samples.  It is still work, as you do have to edit the translated sample, but in many cases, it is less time consuming than writing from scratch.

As most people know, the hard part about maintaining a website is the constant updating. One of the only ways to have a popular site with lots of traffic is to have a good flow of updated content and information.

Here is a site that allows you to embed videos on your site that will be updated dynamically based on predefined keywords.

A very nice service that helps web developers by providing videos that will not become stagnant. Definitely a site to bookmark.

A short blurb about a great little script you can use for free. The people over at websiteamberalert.com have made available an Amber Alert script that when activated on your site will flash an Amber Alert warning when the situation merits.

For those that don’t know, the Amber Alert system is a way of tracking down missing children as soon as possible instead of waiting. It puts out information to the public like possible suspects, vehicle license plate and description, and more so that anyone who has seen something can help. A very nice addition to any site. We’ve installed it here as well.

Whether you run a number of websites as part of a small business or just as a hobby, managing and tracking them can begin to be a chore after awhile. While it is not that hard to maintain and monitor one or two websites, too much more than that can bog you down a bit… especially if you’re starting to get traffic.

Domain tools that claim to automatically calculate the value of a domain name without human assistance have been around for awhile and are generally not well thought of. Here’s a different twist, here is a tool that claims to analyze a specific website and come up with a value of what a link on that site is worth. Again, probably not the best way to evaluate the value of a link… but kind of fun to play around with.
